The Blue Jays rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to earn their first victory of the season. Trailing 6 - 4 to the Highlanders, the Jays used and RBI single by Jerry McMeel, an error and a sac fly by Al Luciano to take a 7 - 6 lead. Rick Loffredo then pitched into and out of a bases loaded, two outs jam to secure the victory. Loffredo scattered eight hits for a complete game victory.
The Blue Jays defense made the big plays when needed including a throw out at home by center fielder, Joe Careccia to end a first inning rally. That putout looks even bigger as I recap the one-run victory. Ralph Caputo played a solid shortstop recording 10 assists/putouts including the game ending pop-up.
The Jays take their momentum on the road to Gruner field for round two against the Humminbirds.
