The Albany Mutts reached the semi - finals of the Downeast Wood Bat Class, before falling to a very good Central Maine Team.
As the host team, Maine always seems to bring in high quality players for the last day of the tournament, and this year was no exception. A 2-1 Albany lead quickly evaporated in the 5th and 6th innings as Maine pulled away.
On Sunday, the Mutts played their final prelim game at Old Orchard Beach. Personally, I took the game off to Island Hop off the beautiful coast. Apparently other Mutts did as well, as we were blanked 7-0, After the the game the clubhouse was opened for showers and libations. (not sure if that came out right)!
All in all another great weekend in South Portland. Nice commraderie, team dinner out at a great Brewery, which served fantastic seafood, and seeing old friends.
Love to see more players from Albany make the tourney next year!
