Giants win twice in 4 days.

On Thursday evening at New Scotland, the Giants overcame a 6-1 deficit to defeat the Cougars 9-6. The Cougars played great defense and Jim Kisselberg pitched with the heart of a champion until he rn out of gas in the 7th when the Giants broke a 6-6 tie with three rus to essentially win it.

The Cougars scored 6 times in the second inning on 3 walks, 4 hits and one Giant error to grab the lead. Bobby Bolt then came on in rlief for the Giants in the third inning and stopped the Cougars on 1 hit the rest of the way as the Giants chippedaway with solo runs in te first 4 innings, then 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 7th.

Gary Sorvari, Ron Smaka and Jack Riley each drove in a run in the 7th.

Bolt also had 2 hits, a walk a stolen base an scored three times to lead the Giants comeback. Sorvari had two hits and 2 RBI, Tony Nardacci had a single, double, stolen base and scored twice and Billy Smith had two hits for the Giants.

On Sunday at the Satellite field, the Giants scored 5 times in the first inning and held off the Senators, 9-3, to improve their record to 8-0.

The Senators pounded out 10 hits, but stranded 8 runners in defeat. Rumor has it that Alex Marin's singe off Jim Konstantakis in the third innng was hit first hit in the 45 Division! (Sorry Alex, they made me do it!) Four of the hits came in a 3-run third inning that cut the Giants lead to 7-3. But the Giants defense was flawless in making
tough plays all game long, including two double plays, to help preserve the win.
Mike Lannon made two long-running catches in left as well.

Ed Class and ?? Nicholson each had two hits to lead the hard-hitting Senators.

For the Giants, Ron Smaka, still recovering from a hammie injury, led the charge with three bullets up the middle that drove in four runs. Tony Nardacci had a clutch double and scored three times, Dick Stark walked three times and has now walked 5 times in the last two games and 8 times this year.

Joe Careccia and Jack Riley each had 2-run hits in the first to give the Giants that early lead. Careccia's blast would have cleared the New Scotland fence with plenty to spare.

Mike Kane held the Senators scoreless in innings 5 and 6.

Steve Lounello came on in the 7th inning of both games to seal the wins.
