The Black Sox score 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Fueled by Tarantino's lead-off double, a bunt single by Musella with Tarantino scoring on an errant throw. Musella swipes two bases and scores on Caputo's ground out force. The Dodgers strike for 2 runs in the top of the third. Rogers, Cortese and Newcomb each single followed by a sac fly from Corrigan. An error, a fielder's choice and a single by LaBarge account for their second run.The Sox come right back with 2 of their own in the bottom half. Booker walks, steals second and scores on Caputo's double. Aiello drives in Caputo on a laser shot single to center. With 2 outs in the bottom of the fifth Caputo singles, steals second and comes home on Phillips' deep double. The Dodgers score one in the top of the sixth after Oberttussing (sp?) walked, went to second on a wild pitch and Cellatano singled with the centerfielder misplaying the ball allowing the run to score. The Sox scored one in their half with Pino leading off with a single, bunted to second, when the throw trying to get him bounced into centerfield, both runners advancing on a wild pitch and Pino scoring on a hit by Reuter. Final: Black Sox 6 Dodgers 3. Hoin, Solomon and Booker worked the bump for the Sox while Rogers went the distance for the Dodgers. Solomon K'd 2 in his two innings of work, and Booker, in his 2 innings, K'd 4 in his first appearance on the mound this year. The Dodgers were short of their full roster but battled to the end. They are a solid baseball team and will be tough in the playoffs.
