In a game that was much closer that the score indicates, The Marlins came from behind to beat Da Bums. With Da Bums leading 7-6 after 3 1/2, the Marlins dropped an 11 spot on Da Bums to put us away.
With the exception of the bottom of the 4th, Da Bums played their best game of the year, both offensively and defensively Nick Kanellis went DEEP for DaBums first home run of the season, and also made a "Web Gem" by diving to his left, spearing a hard hit ground ball, and throwing the runner out from his knees. Rich Frank also turned an unassisted double play at first base by spearing a line drive to his left, and stepping on the base.
Offensively, catcher Mike LaBarge had 2 hits and a run scored, John Reardon had 2 hits, as did Jim Saint(with the help of a VERY liberal Official Scorer. Mike Beehner tripled, as did Rob Shellhouse(the same Official Scorer gets an assist on that one, too.
DaBums also welcomed 2 new players to the team Tim Zapriski joined the team last week, and Dave Lapinel is the newest addition to the squad. Although Dave was 0-2, he contributed with an outfield assist. Welcome aboard, guys.
