Florida ...

Just wanted to let CDMSBL know the roster of guys we are taking to Florida in November to compete in the American Division of the CDMSBL Fall Classic. We will be known as the Albany Blue Bombers.

We have put together what we feel is a formidable roster. While no one can predict what other teams will bring, we will certainly enter the tournament with a quiet confidence. Please wish good fortune to:

Tim Brown
Ralph Caputo
Paul Celentano
Pete Geanellis
Terry Hollis (Pitcher from California and friend to Poleto and Maney)
Matt Kelly
Jim Konstantakis
Mike LaBarge
Mike Lannon
Tom Maney
Jon Martin
Ted Martin
Ted Poleto
John Reel
Bill Smith
Skip Treece

The teams in the American Divison are as follows:
Albany Blue Bombers
All-Star Baseball Academy
D.C. Express
Detroit 60s
Long Island Yankees
New Orleans
Snowbirds
Triad Jaguars

We play 5 teams in 4 days. Usually it takes at least a 3-2 record in the Round Robin to get a team into the playoff round. Don't know our schedule yet.

The National Division consists of the Delco Bandits, Florida High Hatters, New Jersey Reds, Rhode Island Salty Dogs, South Jersey Marlins, Western PA Bucs. Great talent in that division throughout. Each division winner gets a ring.

Using the new Albany Jersies which are red you may want to consider changing the team name to red bombers? Also, so guys all look the same buying angel hats will help.

Good Luck in Florida

If I were you, I would put the full court press on a 52+ shortstop who happens to have a new winter home in Florida. He makes all of your pitchers much better, and can even get on the bump when you are in a jam. Jimmy, you saw a lot of him (too much at the championship cooler session on Sunday), as did all of the teams in the 35+ and 45+ playoffs this year! He can be talked into it, and selling him your roster is a very good place to start. I wish that I was 4 years older and could join you, I miss playing already, and the season has only been over for 2 days. Your team looks like you could go deep into the playoffs, and maybe bring back a second set of rings for Albany. Good Luck BOYZ!

Thanx Mike. I didn't know who you were talking about till you mentioned the cooler session! Right on both counts: he's not too shabby and we did see way too much of him!

Hell, a 4-year waiver is all you needed? I coulda got that!
Besides, no one would question you anyway. You look 70!

Thanx again.
