Joe Sutherland who runs Cook Parks (Rogo and Kuhn field) is asking if we can have some guys donate a few hours on a saturday and help them with replacing the old dugouts.
Since this is a field we use for Labor Day, 35 regular season and next season the 18's and 25's may get a chance to play here. I think it would be in our best interest if we can get some guys to come and help. The more we help the more games we will have on these 2 beautiful fields.
Q - it is obviously tough for anyone to respond / commit since we don't have a definite date ... but ... i will be there as long as i don't have any conflicts.
What are the chances we could combine this with a football game / beer drinking afterward?... that should boost attendance.
We already have at least 10 or more people ready to volunteer their time to get the dugouts done and get us more access to these great fields.
Thanks to Ed Class, Carlos Liera, Jimmy K, Ralph Marrero, Tommy Smith, Kevin Jackson, John Corrigan, Billy Bryant, Jim Bonaparte and Q just to name a few who responded.
Love the football idea, Jon. But I doubt they'll let us play football on that field. There is an adjoining field to Rogowitz that just might fit the bill. It's not a kempt-up field, and there is plenty of room. Not sure we should do the beer thing, either, but we could go to a local pub afterward and partake in the fruits of our efforts! Bring a football - preferably one small enough to fit my hand! JK
