Kevin,

Give us some details on that stunning playoff upset of the Hummingbirds @ Gruner last night!!!!!
Congratulations! Not too many teams travel down to Gruner this time of year and walk away with a "W".
It must have been really satisfying!

Mike,

I don't have all the details, so this is from recollection.

Score was 0-0 going into the fourth. Herb Friedman led the 4th with a walk. I was hit by a pitch. Wild pitch moved the runners up. There was a grounder to first and the runner took off from third so there was a play at the plate, but a bad throw allowed the two runners to score, the batter advanced to second. Another wild pitch and the runner moved to third. A sac fly to center scored the third run. Three runs with no hits.

I was pitching, but after getting hbp in the elbow (second time in two games), it started to swell so I could no longer pitch. TJ Scorsone came in and pitched the last four innings.

I can't remember how we scored our fourth run.

We scored our fifth run in the 7th on a single by Herb Friedman.

Kingston scored one run in the fifth and seventh inning.

John Latorre pitched a great game for the Humminbirds. He had a no hitter going until the top of fifth inning. He only allowed three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Jim Latorre came in to get the final two outs in the 7th.

Highlanders played a sharp game. We only had one error and took advantage of our opportunities with runners on base.
