The score was incorrectly posted. The fact is: Rockets 17, Pirates 1. I'd provide details except that I'm bleeding out of my ears right now. I may need to lie down.
The Rockets scored 6 in the 3rd and 7 in the 5th. But eliminate those two bad innings and, er, well, it still wasn't close. We got crushed, mauled, bent and spindled. Thing is, we made three errors. That's not great, but it's not awful either. The Rockets simply hit everything we threw at them. Red glare, indeed.
Anyway, we got smoked.
That, I guess, is baseball.
You know, a funny game and all that.
Despite everything, there are valuable life lessons to be learned. Key insights into the human condition. A game that affords us a rare, precious glimpse into the soul and wit of man. Silver linings. Grace notes. All that crap. I think, guys, I need to drink heavily now. And often. A blackout would be nice. Then maybe pass out in a back alley, roll around in some garbage, vomit on myself. Do it again the next day. Maybe bring the kids. That is: Try to handle this as maturely as possible. Sigh.
