The Albany Blue Bombers push their record to 3-1, with a 13-10 victory over the Triad Jaguars.

The Triad Jaguars jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Albany Blue Bombers answered right back in the bottom of the frame, on a RBI single by Mike Girard. Pete Geanellis was on the mound for the Bombers and kept the Jaguars from adding any runs in the second and third innings. Then Mike Girard hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third to give Albany a 4-1 lead.
Triad then scratched for one run in the top of the 4th and another in the top of the 5th inning to make the game tight at 4-3. The Bombers then erupted for 9 runs, in the bottom of the fifth inning, to open up a 10-run lead. Tim Brown, Ralph Caputo, Mike Girard, Ted Martin, Ted Poleto, Matt Kelly, Jon Martin, and Billy Smith all had hits in the rally.
The Triad Jaguars showed their grit by pouncing on two Bomber relievers for 6 runs in the top of the sixth, until Ralph Caputo came in to put out the fire. With the score 13-9, Pete Westphal was summoned (tight back and all) to get the Albany Blue Bombers home. He pitched a scoreless 7th, and gave up just one run the rest of the way.
The game ended in the bottom of the eighth, when the time limit expired and the Albany Blue Bombers walked away with a 13-10 victory.
Ted Martin, Jon Martin, and Billy Smith had two hits each. Tim Brown had three hits and scored three runs, and Mike Girard pitched in with three hits and six RBI's.
The Albany Blue Bombers now take a 3-1 record into Thursday's round robin finale against the Snowbirds. A 4-1 record still has a chance to get a first round bye, so the game has a lot of meaning.

Good luck today. Just give Pete a couple of beers for some pre-game therapy for his back. That should do the trick.
