The Silver Marlins scored four runs in the top of the first and never looked back in game one of the 38+ championship.
Chuck Sohl went the distance allowing three hits while striking out four. Randy Craft had three hits and two rbi, Tom Maney and Jim Ansel had a pair of hits and Mike Girard had a pair of rbi's.
Game two is Wednesday night at 5:30pm at the Knick.
A real team effort in this one as nine of the Marlins batters had at least one hit. Good defense was played all night behind great pitching. A fun time to be a member of this team.
SIDE NOTE: I need to follow Skip Treece home from one of the games, because I am sure that he stops off at the fountain of youth. He had three or four hard running catches that a rookie in the 28 plus league would have been proud of. Bottle some up and sell it Skip!
