so ok today's game critical, life threaten, your soul going to hell...none of these. mike g. your a very good ball player, well respected, people value your opinion.. but today my friend your opinion sucks. say what you want about the call when you got hit, and yea blame the umps(or in this case the home plate ump). the umps didnt cost you the game, they didnt hit the ball and score runs. bottom line you didnt get the job done today. life goes on...but let me ask this, why is it that when something happens in a game every all the sudden wants the rules to take over to determine the winner of a game. let face it, its been a long season and its play-off time,ok so now is also time to place blame because of one play...let go along with your comments, and again remember first week in april, you didnt have any umps.:
Listen whoever you are. Rules are rules, whether they be in April or in Sept. No one was disputing the results of the game it seems to me. Whether or not the ump knows the rules in this league is crucial for all of us who play in the game. In the majors if your 're Randy Johnson or Joe Blow{soup for one}you will be ejected for not following the rules. In our league, safety as well as decorum are vital elements in which we as adult ballplayers need to play with. Without these, this league would have players who are selfish bores who are a detriment to themselves but most of all to those who they play against.
Seems that you are missing the point here - this is a saftey issue first and foremost. We have to protect one another. Not sure about anyone else, but the thought of getting a concussion and missing work because some bone head thought this was the last game of the World Series, doesn't get me excited. I believe in playing hard, but also safe... does anyone remember when we added the rule about a flap to the batting helmet on the side facing the pitcher for saftey? So why is this so much different?
