ralph caputo, i dont disagree with what your saying and yea the welfare of one is important...i dont want to see anyone hurt especially on a play like yesterday. hey it was a playoff game and yea it gets alitte hype cause you want to win. but i got to say if we're talking about rules then lets inforce them all cause it hasnt been done all year. now its too bad that now playoffs are going we all the sudden want to apply all the rules. fine...lets make it clear before the games, just remember when the umps apply the rule to a player or team for something done, no complaints... and by the way soup4one, is dmac the other ump who was there.
Relax Soup!!! Your opinion doesn't mean much here. The league might want to ask you if the runner attempted to slide or avoid contact, but that is about as much as you will be involved. Just about every call that went against the Yankees was screamed about by Musella and/or Dipino like you were murdering someone in their family. One of you guys were even called a F#@*ing Idiot by a Yankee ballplayer, and yet I heard not one word of warning from you or support of Jimmy's authority from you. You were freaking invisible. Its ok with me, just stay that way now! This is why we have protests. If an umpire either confesses that he doesn't know a rule(as Jimmy did yesterday), or gets a rule wrong, the teams involved have recourse. Again, Jimmy did the right thing, not knowing the league specific rule, and he accepted and properly filed the protest, so that the league can rule on it. You on the other hand, were a clam at the game, you ought to remain one now. You had your chance yesterday, and you did absolutely nothing.
