Lost in all of the excitement of Saturdays' Cub/Yankee game was the fact they we played on an exceptional new ball field at Ichabod Crane High School. Mike Kravitz should be thanked profusely for the job he did on the field, as well as securing the field for that game. The dimensions are perfect for the over 28 league. 380 straight away, 320 down the lines - not bad for both pitchers and hitters. Two balls left the park Saturday, nice to bring back the home run ball.
I know it's the hope that 2006 could see more games played there. It's well worth the extra hike.
Thank you very much, Jon. I appreciate your compliments and I am glad you and the rest of the Cubs and Yankees enjoyed playing on the field. I enjoyed watching you guys play on it. Kevin Jackson and I teamed up in gaining approval for the use of the field. Kevin played on the varsity baseball team for the current coach and athletic director when he attended Ichabod Crane. We hope to be able to play some more games there next year. Thanks again, Jon. And Kevin - thank you for your efforts on this.
