Congratulations to all the 28, 38 and 47 Champions of 2005! It was a privilege and pleasure for our fledgling umpire group to work CD-MSBL games this season. Our umpires enjoyed the games, as much as the players. The tenacity, intensity and spirit brought to these games by the players, who are all to be congratulated on your seasons, made the games interesting, and kept our umpires in the game. Despite controversies, and some on field situtations, it was great baseball. Any issues that occured are just part of the game, and our umpires appreciated the respect, and courtesy extended to us throughout the season. A special thanks goes to Bob Van Alstyne and Bob Jesmain, Presidents of Schenectady Baseball Umpires Organization, and Eastern New York Umpires Association respectively, for their efforts and assistance in getting all of the games covered, and providing good quality officials. Assuming that CD-MSBL would like our CD-MSBL-Umpires Association back next season, we will look forward to an even more successful 2006. We will endeavor off season to build our numbers (any interested parties are welcome to join us), and implement an off season training program on rules and mechanics, so we can continue to provide an always improving, and quality product of officiating. Again, thanks for having us as part of your season, and hats off to everyone who participated as player, coach and umpire.
