The Giants, behind the hitting and pitching of Steve Lounello and Bob Bolt, beat the Black Sox 3-2.
Giants took a 2-0 lead into the 6th when the Sox scored twice to tie it on Ralph Caputo's line-drive single to left. But Jim Porter led off the bottom of the 7th with a sharp single up the middle to start the Giants winning tally. Jim Konstantakis then blooped a single to right and Bolt followed by ripping a single to plate Porter with the winning run.
StevieLou, a.k.a. Rake man, went the first 6, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 8. He also singled and drew a walk. Bolt came on in the 7th to earn the win. Greg Hoin was the tough luck pitcher for the Sox in going the distance.
It was another competitive game in the 45 division,of which there seems to quite a few of early on in this division. Jim, you forgot to mention that Doug Reisinger led off the second inning with a blast over the leftfield fence. Congrats to the Giants. Looking forward to our next meeting.
My bad. I wrote it on memory, which at my age isn't practical! My bad, Doug. It was a no-doubt-about-it blast with a $17 bat he just bought at some discount store. jk
