Father Son Games... Thanks to all the volunteers

We lucked out with another beautiful day for baseball yesterday... and the 3rd year of the father / son games was well done again.\

Hope i don't miss anyone but we all owe a big thank you to Donny Wixon for putting the whole thing together... again!

Tom and Pam Smith were the grillmasters, Don Dunham and Paul Celentano umped game 1 and John Reel and Jimmy Konstantakis did game 2.

We put the teams together for game 1 with an eye towards making even teams and ended up with a 7-6 game..... highlighted by an MVP performance by the youngest kid on the field - Dave Lapinels' son just turned 13, had a couple of hits, scored a run, drove in a couple of runs and make several plays in left field ....... His smile went from ear to ear.

Thanks for the time and energy boys.

Just a suggestion:

Maybe we should think about naming these games:
The Don Wixon Father's Day - Father/Son games.

Just a thought!

Wanted to also send my THANKS to Don Wixon and all the others that have turned this game into an awesome Father's Day tradition! What a spectacular day we had!
I very much appreciate your efforts to make this day special for so many of our players, sons and fathers.

Without the able assistance of Tom and Pam Smith, John Corrigan, both for his grill and taking on manager duties, as did Vince Koster, Jim McQuade and Don Burriesci, and the men in blue, Don Dunham, Paul Celletano, Jim Konstantakis and John Reel this event would not be possible. Thank you all so much. And a thanks to the mother's who have a bit to do with our being fathers. I enjoyed so much seeing the families of the player's cheering their heroes on. And to the players, thanks for playing two fine games, filled with many exciting plays. Ron Lochner thanks for the cookies and Mike Girard thanks for the grill. Darrell Duncan and crew, thank you for making the field available to all of us. It was in great condition as usual.

Mike, I think it should be the CDMSBL Father-Son Games. The only thing my name should be in front of is my obituary, and the way I'm playing this year my teammates think it already is.

Lainie Hiller took many photographs during play of the second game, besides the group photo at the end. She explained to me in plain and clear language how you folks could get them, but with my near illiterate understanding of computers, I will have her post to the bulletin board the procedure you need to use.

Again, thank you to all involved, volunteers, umpires, players and spectators. See you next year.
