Under sunny skies at New Scotland Tuesday evening, the Thunder cruised past the Cougars 16-0, in a game shortened to 5 innings, mercifully, by the mercy rule.
Pete Geannelis and Thunder rookie Joe Hervieux combined on a one-hitter, with Pete throwing the first four innings to pick up the victory.
Don Ball led the Thunder with a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate. After the Thunder scored 3 in the first, they exploded for 6 in the second inning. Don led of the inning with a sharp single to right, and later in the same inning, lined a two-run single to center. He finished the night with 4 rbi to go with his 4 hits.
Pete Geannelis continued to pound the ball for the Thunder, with a couple of booming doubles. Hope that bat stays hot for the Maine tourney this weekend!
