Sunday, the 26th, on a cloudy New Scotland evening started with Dave Hartman and Jerry Solomon going out for the Vets and Sox. Good hitting by the Vets V. Koster, Demaria and Hartman produced 2 runs in the 1st with the Sox then answering with 2 in their 3rd with a hit by Lennox making it 2-2 which held up in the 4th. The Vets plated 3 in the 5th with hits by Romero and Demaria and the Sox came up with 2 on a hit by Booker making it 5-4 Vets going into the 6th. Buchan relieved for the Vets and Caputo for the Sox in the 6th. The Sox were able to plate a run in the bottom of the 6th on a single by Lofreddo knotting the score at 5-5 which held up in the 7th. On to the 8th (again) with the Vets coming up with 1 run, but then the Sox were able to wrap it up with 2 runs in their half with a single by Hauser and a timely triple by Chuck Stanley who scored the winner on a SAC to CF.
Just a turnaround from the previous week where the Vets came up on the winning side by the same score in extra innings. Two teams match up fairly well in good competition.
