Mark Dabney's son passed away Friday unexpectedly. Mark plays for the Rays in the 35s and the Giants in the 45s. He is among the classiest guys in the league as well as one of the best.
The Giants are hurting deeply for Mark and really don't want to play at 10 a.m. tomorrow out of respect for Mark and his family. Personally, Mario Arduini, Tony Nardacci and I have known Mark for most of his life growing up in Rensselaer. It is the most devastating tragedy a parent can experience, but when it hits this close to home, it seems worse.
As a team, I know I can speak for the Giants when I say our prayers are with Mark and his family at this time.
Mark, my very deepest condolenses on the the loss of your son. As a parent you never want to see any of your children go before you. I hope GOD has a wonderful place for him up there and you and your family will have some comfort in that.
Mark and Family,As parents that lost a child a few years ago, we know your pain. My wife and I will pray for you and your family.Stay strong for each other and if you need to talk to , we are here always. The child is now in God's hands and in time you will get to see him again . Thoughts and prayers, Harold & Vickie Jenkins
Mark, I know it is of little consolation, but your team mates, fellow ball players, and friends here in the CDMSBL share in your sorrow! I think to a man, we were all sick to our stomachs when we heard the news. Everyone that has crossed your path in this league knows what kind of guy you are and loves and respects you as a player and person. We share your grief. May Jesus be with you and your family over the next days and months. Look for him and feel him . . . he will be there for you! . . . as will we all! Hang in there, buddy!
