I think it's official now. I'm no longer a Marlin-Silver or Gold for that matter. Since I was never Gold, it won't feel so bad beating the Gold Marlins with our talented over 48 Yankee team.
On the other hand- Since I've been Silver since the beggining, it IS gonna feel bad beating you guys with our-over 38 Blue Jay team. Seriously, it was nice to go out on top, and I feel very blessed that the Silvers were my team-mates for so long. You guys are champions, on- and off the field.
The decision to ask for a release is not an easy one, and you guys WERE hard to quit, but Artie promised to show me his swing from 1971 that had the Phillies top brass calling him the next Cookie Rojas--should be an interesting year.
OUCH! Et tu Brute! I definitely did not see this coming. Hard to imagine the Silvers without you Buddy! We will be hard pressed to replace you. Good luck with the new squad. A good buch of guys, no doubt.
The 47 + Yankees are very fortunate to have such a talented and classy member as you on our team. And we look forward to helping you beat the Marlins and all the other teams in our league. By the way, that swing was a few years before 1971 and unfortunately has had to change with old age over the years.
Thanks for being my team mate all these years. We made some noise. It will be awkward to see you across the diamond. I will be pulling for you, maybe quietly. The new Yankees are lucky to have you. Maybe we will play together in a tournament or two.
I suspect there is a lesson to be learned here. Explain it to me sometime.
See you out there. Good luck and enjoy your new teams.
