I'll try to add a few details.

The WhizKids and Americans squared off at the A diamond Tuesday night.
The Whiz took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd on an RBI single by Gene Hallenbeck that scored Jeff Friedman, and an error that allowed Shawn Martin to score. The Americans cut the deficit in half in the 4th on a triple by Hartman (tough to breathe with those masks!), and a single by Smith. The Whiz answered in the top of the 5th with 3 runs. Reggie Flansburg's 2-run single plated Friedman and Martin, and John Cortese followed with a single, driving in Hallenbeck. The Whiz tacked on some runs in the final frame to end the scoring.

Mike Kane was in mid season form, pitching 6 innings allow 6 hits with no walks and 3 K's. (Fielded his position with 4 assists and 3 putouts!)
Jeff Friedman made his WhizKids debut, going 2-4 with 3 runs scored, and pitching a scoreless 7th.

Good game, Mike, and to the rest of the Americans.

Stay healthy, all.

Jim Porter
