Vintage Baseball

Hi guys,

Been a long time since I played in the CDMSBL. I played for 12 seasons with my last season being in 2012. After surgeries on both shoulders I eventually moved on to being involved with my son's travel teams and got my baseball in with throwing lots of batting practice to him and his teammates. I continued to follow the CDMSBL, saw a few games at New Scotland over the years, and checked out this bulletin board every once in awhile to see what was going on in the CDMSBL.

Earlier this summer my family moved out of New York to settle in our beach home in Coastal Delaware. While looking for a travel team for my son I stumbled across the Lewes Baseball Club. Web link below. I sent them a message and played with some of the guys last night - so much fun. They play by 1864 rules - check the rules out on the website. My hands are still sore today from catching line drives and pop flies barehanded - most of the guys said they have broken fingers over the years.

I thought of all of the guys that I played with over the years in the CDMSBL and wanted to pass this along. Not sure if there is any similar organization in Upstate NY for any of you guys who may be interested.

Best regards sent from Lewes, Delaware to my upstate NY baseball friends

Good to hear from you Ed. I have heard of this vintage league and it sounds like fun - unless you're trying to snare a line drive off the bat of Aaron Judge!

Hope Delaware suits you well.
