The 55+ Dodgers inched past the .500 mark with a win over the Americans at the A Diamond.
The Americans were missing some of their key players so Mike LaBarge traded his tools of ignorance for a starting spot on the artificial pitchers mound. Mike battled the Dodgers' line-up through six inning and struck out three batters. Fortunately for the Dodgers, we were "tough with two" as we scored four runs in the first and four more in the fifth after the Americans had recorded two outs. Steve Schaefer - who runs pretty well for a catcher - laced a triple to lead the charge.
The Dodgers' pitching rotation of Tesereiro, Loffredo, Denicola and Ball were backed by three double plays that squashed a few Americans' rallies.
