First off I truly got to give a hats off to the cubs for an incredible year! They came to Compete in the finals with a tough lineup 1-10 and great pitching. DUNN AND MAsseroni INCREDIBLE. Recap Game 1 CUBS CAME TO PLAY! Hit! And score! The final was 12-8 but it was a competitive game throughout! Cubs bats were alive and it was like a radio show PUTTING ON THE HITS! Cubs take Game 1. GAME 2 Bombers have Dave Smitherman on the bump against the cubs start Ron Masseroni. A pitchers duel throughout the game runs were scarce probably used most of them up in game 1. BOMBERS EDGE THE CUBS 3-2! GAME 3 Dunn back on the hill for the cubs and Smitherman giving it a go for the Bombers! Cubs jump out to a 2-0 lead first inning with 1 out with men on 3rd and 2nd. Smitherman thought he just didnt have it this day so a quick hook. Now being I couldnt run move or play the field with a torn hip flexor. I didnt play game 2 and tried hitting but couldnt barely make it to first even if I hit it off the wall! But my arm felt good! So I Gabe it a go got out of the jamb with no further damage! BOMBERS would tie it up and be 2-2 till late inning heroics by Mick Novak taking a Dunn pitch over the left field fence giving the Bombers a 3run lead , bombers add a few more taking an 8-2 lead into The 6th! Bombers got Thru the 6th without any threat from the cubs! Into the 7th where things got a little interesting after 2 quick outs the cubs count a rally of their own with a runner on first Chris Dunn drills a line drive to put guys in 1st and second bring a up Tim Brown who Lex handled pretty good so far with 2ks in previous at bats Brown drills a line drive to right field! cubs have bases loaded. Dan Hernandez up to bat who probably is sick of seeing Lex since they both went at it in the 33s championship a week prior! Lex gets the ground ball to 3rd Dan Tarullo steps on the bag for the final out! BOMBER WIN THEEEEEEEEEE BOMBERS WIN!!! A great all around team effort brings home this trophy Jj Janetsky pulled his hamstring game 1 didnt play game 2 or 3 Jim Hicks has a torn meniscus in his knee. mick Novak played with a sore knee! And Lex with a tear in his hip flexor! The walking wounded pull it off! JAN FRIEDMAN was a wall back there throwing out cubs runners!!! and Adam Ellenbogen had key hits and running the bases and stealing every opportunity he got on! Basically all bombers DOOM DAN, RYNO HICKS BOB JAN JJ ADAM MICK SMITTY and Our heart go out to REUTER missed the last game due to family obligation! BIG ROOT a huge part of the Bomber success!! Congrats again to the Cubs for an amazing year as well LEX

I have said it before, but it bears repeating...Lex Herrlett is the ultimate warrior, and he took it up a couple of notches this past weekend. Adrenaline and his competitive juices is the only way to explain how he could perform as well as he did with the adversity he was facing. Both teams were battling injuries and aching bodies, but the Bombers were truly dropping like flies and easily had an excuse if the Cubs had held onto a 2-1 lead after six in Game 2 for a sweep, but they posted an impressive comeback with a monster Bob Altobelli double high off the fence in right the crushing blow.
Hats off to the Bombers for a great series and a dominating season, and a big thanks to my Cubbies teammates for an enjoyable fall and summer of baseball. There is nobody better to play for than Cubs skipper Jim McQuade.
Bombers know how hard I was pulling for my Cubbie brothers. Gotta say I was there Sunday, and what Lex did that day was one of the best championship performances Ive ever seen. And I've seen many. This was impressive. mane
