October baseball continues to bring out the best of the Angels...
Facing the 3rd seeded Whiz, the Angels tacked on runs in all but the 7th in this convincing win.
Bobby Bolt was in complete control throughout this one..hitting spots and not allowing a safety to till the 5th..
By then the Maney led Angels had run out to a 9 - 0 lead with a combination of timely hits, suicide squeezes , double steals and some helpful miscues...
Reward? A date with the Cubbies in Girards backyard in Clifton Commons...Coolers are not allowed...insider tip..buy stock in Ravenswood...
This story is a familiar one, especially to Jonny Martin and Jim McQuade. Both were part of a team in 2019, that finished the regular season under .500; but put together a strong run in the Playoffs, that ended in a championship. Not surprised at all just because, whenever Bobby Bolt is on the bump for your team, you have a real shot at winning!
Great job boys, as the Whiz Kids were poised to make a run at the title themselves, off a strong regular season! Can't wait to play tonight at the Commons, and even more excited about the after party at Ravenswood! Some of the best chicken wings in the area.
Hats off, (or more appropriately, halos off) to the Angels. They brought their A game, and pushed all the right buttons. Tom Maney has a great group of guys on his team. Good luck moving forward.
