Joe Burns and Jeff Friedman combined to pitch a 2-hitter as the WhizKids defeated the Americans in 5 innings at New Scotland Wednesday night. The Whiz broke the game open with a big 3rd inning, with Friedman contributing a 2-run single. Gene Hallenbeck capped the scoring in the 5th with a 3-run home run, his second homer in two games. Bob Bolt (4-4, double, 3 runs) and Shawn Martin (3-4, double, 2 runs) led the WhizKids offense. Mike Labarge had both of the hits for the Americans.
