95 degrees at game time and the dirt areas of B Diamond were powder . It was a game for 3 innings with the Whiz leading 4-2 entering the 4th. Then, everything that could go wrong for the Twins did go wrong. Suffice to say that a combination of many Whiz hits and many Twins miscues led to a SIXTEEN run 4th for the Whiz. They like to run, and run, and run. The Twins were able to put up 4 more runs themselves in the bottom of the 4th, but, a comeback was a bridge too far last night. Both teams were making a lot of contact with only 1 strikeout in the entire game which saw over 60 plate appearances between the 2 teams.

As Jim E. stated, it was 4-2 after 3 innings. Then the WhizKids bats came alive, as they batted around in the 4th. Bob Bolt was the recipient of the offensive outburst as he pitched the first 3 innings to improve to 3-0. Perfect day at the plate for Mike Kane and Jan Friedman, as they both went 4-4. The Twins were not at full strength, so dont let the final score fool you. They will make plenty of noise in the second half of the season.
