Evidently it was something in the hot steamy air at B Diamond last night that produced a darkness shortened game which had 33 hits between the 55 Americans and Twins. The Twins banged out 20 hits with Rick Saidenberg, Greg Briscoe, and Jeff Whitehead each collecting 3 safeties while winning pitcher John Newman tagged a long triple in his first plate appearance. Ben Phillips led the Americans going 3-3 while Yakatan and Mueller got 2 hits each. The Americans tallied 13 hits on the night. The game was ended by the umpires after 6 full due to nightfall with the Twins coming away with the win 17-7.
