I was driving to our stadium game this morning thinking what it would be like if I pitched and just threw strikes for a few innings to save our pitchers arms. It would take our defense to play like pros and our bats to continue our hot streak. We were playing Steves Sports-Red (Cleveland) a historically tough team. A pitcher like myself needs a lot of solid defense and that is what we got. Carlos Espada at shortstop was outstanding and I wish I had video to show. I think Joe Careccia ran over 150 feet for a few pop flies in center field and Pat Alston played a first base with scoops, tags, stretches, and foul pop-outs. I feel bad not listing every incredible play because my pitching made them work. Then the team hit and hit and ran and ran and ran. I handed the ball to Jimmy Tesoriero in the 7th inning with a 6-1 lead. BUT with bases loaded and no outs. In Jimmy T fashion, he muscled through that inning getting 3 outs with only letting two of my runners scoring. He then quickly worked the 8th and 9th innings and the Albany Capitals got the 6-3 win! Sometimes the wins that are a total team effort are even more satisfying. To top off the night, Johnny Weber cooked everyone including the wifes a chicken parmigiana dinner. Very satisfying. Mike
