Sad news indeed.
Condolences to Mark's family and friends.
He was a very intense competitor, and always gave 100%.

I knew Mark, having managed him for two years on the Peppers. I also played against him for about 10 years when he joined other teams.

He was always an intense competitor, a fine hitter, a daring and a very fast base runner.

He enjoyed winning and was not at all happy about losing. His major gift, besides his speed and intensity, was that he
forced his opponents to play their best games when they played against him.

That's a gift which he roundly shared.

Mark died much too soon. My sincere condolences to his family.

Truly saddened to hear this news. I had the pleasure of playing with and against Mark and I can say that he was nothing if not passionate. He was a lot like someone else I know :) in that way. I will say a prayer for Mark and look forward to a "Road Soda" in the Field Of Dreams in the great beyond.
