Arachnids starter Wayne Nicholsen went the distance against the Peppers allowing 8 hits, 1 run, zero walks, while striking out 5. Wayne brought the heat all game long.

Peppers starter Dan Durback kept the game tight as the Arachnids held just a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 4th. Then the Arachnids bats came alive resulting in 3 runs highlighted by a 2 rbi double by big Tom King to give the home team a 5-1 lead.

The Arachnids banged out 14 hits with Mike Aiello, Jim Wing, Tom King, and Don Wixon getting 2 each.

Pete Zamory and and Ted Wittig had 2 hits each for the Peppers . The visitors had 8 hits total.

Spiders shortstop Stefan Koutsakis made the catch of the year for the Arachnids robbing Ken Shaw of what looked to be a sure single hauling in a reverse over the shoulder dying quail in short left center. It was magic.
