After pitching complete game wins this past Friday against the 55 Giants and Monday vs the 62 Cards, farmer strong Wayne Nicholsen took to the mound again Tuesday night , this time for the 55 Twins against the talented 55 Angels. Sometimes more is better and that was the case for Wayne who crafted a 4 hit shutout against an Angels team that most certainly has the talent to challenge any team in the 55s. It was the Twins nursing a 1-0 lead entering the 5th as Angels pitcher Phil Gadomski was holding the Twins in check. However, the Twins found their mojo in the 5th and 7th tacking on 6 runs via 7 hits, a walk, 1 hit batter and 2 costly errors by the home team.
The Twins had 14 hits total. Terry McCarthy had 3 singles while Charlie Freer, Jeff Whitehead(double), Jim Tino, Lee Madsen, and Greg Briscoe 2 hits each. Joe Parker had 3 big rbis.
Tim Burns and Jim McQuade each had a double for the Angels.
