Follow 9W South along the Hudson paralleling the Mighty Catskill Mountains until you arrive in Saugerties. I know some dont like driving that far to a game, but personally, I love the scenic beauty of the trip and Lorenz Field is an absolute gem. The entire complex there is unrivaled by most other town parks. There were lots of people on the many fields and playgrounds. Very impressive for a town of less than 20,000.
And yes, we did play hardball. The Arachnids opened strong scoring 10 runs in the first two innings. Cardinal pitchers and defense found their mojo the rest of the way holding the Spiders to just 1 more run over the final 5 innings. The Cards scored 3 in the game making the closing score 11-3 Arachnids. The score was somewhat secondary though as both teams had several players playing with noticeable injuries. Warriors. Lovers of this great game. None more than Cardinal Pete Zamory whos been playing hurt almost all season. Pete came to the plate in the 3rd and hit a perfect clean hard line drive into left center but exacerbated his leg injury coming out of the box and was helped to 1st by members of both teams. He wanted to tag the bag. Then, he was gone for the rest of the game. Mr. Zamory-The entire Arachnids team salutes you.
