Albany Whiz are 4-1 in pool play at the Roy Hobbs Tournament in Fort Myers, FL.
Game 1 saw the Whiz lose to Steves Sports 7-5. For the Whiz, Gene Hallenbeck was 3-3 with a double. Jeff Friedman was 2-4 with a double. Fred Muller was 2-3. Doug Reisinger and Greg Mangione both had doubles as well.
Game 2 saw the Whiz defeat the RIMA Foxes 11-5. Shawn Martin was 3-3, Fred Muller, Greg Mangione and Barry Jackson were 2-5 while Jeff Friedman had a double.
Game 3 saw the Whiz defeat the Bergen Yankees 19-4. For the Whiz Dave Sirani was 4-5, Jeff Whitehead was 3-4, Jeff Friedman was 3-5, Doug Reisinger had a triple and double. Shawn Martin had a triple as well. Fred Muller, Barry Friedman and Gene Hallenbeck all had a double.
Game 4 saw the Whiz defeat Minnesota Bandits Gold 21-11. For the Whiz Shawn Martin was 2-2 with an in the park home run. Dave Sirani and Doug Reisinger were 3-3. Jeff Friedman was 3-4 with a double. Jeff Whitehead had a triple.
Game 5 saw the Whiz defeat the Victoria Harbor Cats 20-10 which was played at Jet Blue Stadium. For the Whiz Greg Mangione was 4-4. Shawn Martin was 3-4 with a double. Jan Friedman was 4-5. Gene Hallenbeck was 3-4. Jeff Friedman was 3-5 while Jeff Whitehead was 2-4 with a double.
Thursday is an off day with seedings and bracket play to be set for the playoffs which start on Friday.
