Guys: I'm making preliminary attempts to start a new over-62 team.
More younger players and free agents are coming up from the over-55s to the over-62s, so rosters are getting bigger. That means many players will find themselves sitting more and playing less than they'd like.
Players in the 62s have no older division to graduate to.
The new team is designed to relieve some of that pressure and give guys, especially those who've already done a lot of sitting, more time on the field.
Commissioner John Reel supports my effort.
I need to gauge interest. If you're already on a team but feel you may want more playing time or the chance to play for a new team, drop me an email at mhart44@me.com. Your note will simply say you're interested and it will not commit you to the team. I'll keep the names of email-senders confidential.
You will be on the new team once you tell me you want to join it. Then, you will need to tell your last manager that you're leaving.
My goal is to get 14 or 15 names by about January 21st. I'm looking forward to your messages and questions.
