Since we aren't outside playing baseball.........

I'd thought a little exercise for the brain can't hurt.

Is it possible/legitmate to get four outs in one inning?

Please respond to this post with a "proof-of-concept" if you can think of a situation.

You can make a fourth out appeal on a runner leaving a base too soon on a double play that does not result in the third out being a force out.

Runners on first and third, one out. Fly ball to left, runners tag, runner on third leaves early and scores, runner on first tags and goes to second. Left fielder catches ball for out number two, throws to second to get runner tagging from first, out number three. team appeals runner leaving third too early, granted, out number four and the run does not score.

I know how you can get 6 outs in an inning - 3 outs in the top and 3 outs in the Bottom.

How 'bout when the catch can't hold onto third strike and the runners keep making it to first base, that could go on forever or even infinity whichever is longer...
