It was sunny at New Scotland making it very tough for defenders on the right side to see the ball until the 6th inning. Peppers started the scoring in the top of the first as Bob Bolt (walk) scored on a single by Tony Mogavero off Spiders starter Darrell Duncan. The Arachnids plated 2 in the bottom of the inning, 2 in the third, 1 in the 4th, and 2 more in the 6th off Peppers pitcher Dave Plew who went the distance. Three pitchers threw for the Arachnids, Duncan 2, Wellington 3, and Scorsone 2. Plew and Ted Wittig led the Peppers offense with 2 hits each. Joe Parker was 4-4 (2 doubles) for the home team while Duncan and Stefan Koutsakis chipped in with 2 hits each. Play of the game was an outstanding catch by Peppers Mogavero going full tilt back and to his right in the 6th on a long drive off the bat of TJ Scorsone in very deep left field saving at least 2 runs. Hats off on that one ! Arachnids prevail 7-1.
