baseballs in use the last 2 years.

Hello all its Mike Reutter with a brief message to all. I have been playing in this league now for over 15 years and don't complain about much but I have to speak my peace. The baseballs we are playing with are absolute garbage in the 55's. I never had a problem with the ROCK balls we played with all those years but the new ones we use now are softer than a softball. I want to play baseball with a real ball not a HACKY SAC ball. Please leave your opinions on this issue. #99

I don't guys bite guys, just give me a little feed back if I'm delusional over the new baseballs in place. Maybe they don't make the rock balls anymore or official Rawlings MLB balls are too expensive??? Mike

My personal observation is that the ball often doesnt go as far in the air as I think it should when I hit it solidly. Might have something to do with the fact that I am not as young and allegedly strong as I once was. There have been a number of comments from guys on the 2 teams I manage in the 55s and 62s that indicate the ball doesnt seem to carry as far as they thought it would as it was traveling through the air in the outfield. Seemed to die is the usual comment.

I dont know if there is a company that makes hardballs that have a mini Superball in the center of it instead of cork. That would probably add 25 to 30% to the exit velocity and distance on a well hit ball but we would very likely lose some pitchers and third baseman in the process. Would not want to see that happen. Most everybody would be hitting home runs now and then with some guys getting up in the double digits with the long ball. Dream on.
