Potato Trick Update: Potato reappeared in my back pocket. It was baked. A bit leery of the sour cream that was now on it. Hmmmm....
And again, back to the game...
The Highlanders used some key hits to score their runs in defeating the A's. The A's once again scored first on a single by Newcomb, a stolen base and scoring on a ground out and an error. The High-Handers came back with their own run with classic small ball. A single by Scorsone, a sacrifice bunt by Friedman, a ground out and a run-scoring single by Jackson.
In the second, the H'anders scored two with two down. After a single by C Rebhun and Reed on base with an HBP without an out recorded, it looked like the A's might get out of it. The runners were still on second and third with two outs when L Rebhun crushed a double.
C. Rebhun plated the H's next two in the 3rd - again with 2 outs. Kalinski got on by an error and Dunham was hit by a pitch. Another well struck ball with 2 down brought home the two runners.
The 'Landers got two more in the 5th on a single and two doubles by Jackson, C Rebhun and Reed, respectively. The runs again scored with two outs.
The A's, swinging rubber bands rather than real bats against the High Guys starter (again, I need help with his last name - please somebody!!) could not get anything going until the last inning played, the 6th. They scored 4 on a combination of couple hits, 3 walks, a HBP and a WP.
Running out of names to call the Hi-De-Ho gang, I will end this report.
Highlanders: L Rebhun - 2 2B, 2 rbi C Rebhun - 1 1b, 2 2b, 1 RBI, 2 runs Scorsone - 2 1B, 1 run Jackson - 2 1B, 1 run
A's: Newcomb - 2 1B, 2 sb, 1 run Gianokos - 1 1B, 1 rbi (all for his new grandchild - ok, Pops!!)
