Dodgers v Whiz


The Dodgers and Whiz met last night at the A Diamond under the lights for a rainout makeup. The Whiz scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st. The Whiz had singles by Paul Scutieri, Doug Reisinger, Gene Hallenbeck and Jim Hicks, along with a double by Jeff Friedman. The Whiz added one in the bottom of the 2nd on singles by Greg Mangione and Paul Graziano. The Whiz added 3 more in the bottom of the 4th on singles by Barry Friedman and Mangione, along with a triple by Jeff Friedman. The Dodgers got on the scoreboard in the top of the 5th. Pat Alston led off with a single, moved to 2nd on pass ball throw over to 1st and scored on a Dan McGuire single. Bottom of the 5th saw the Whiz score 3 runs. Singles by Mike Kane, Mangione, Jan Friedman and Bob Holmes along with a triple by Barry Friedman and a beaned batter completed the scoring for the Whiz. After 5 innings the final score was 11-1. Pitching for the Whiz was Jeff Friedman who gave up 6 hits, 3 K's and 0 BB's. For the Dodgers, Dan McGuire was 2-2, with singles from Harold Staulters, Joe Careccia, Pat Alston and Marc Trinchillo. Pitching for the Dodgers was Jon Atwell, Dennis Lane and John Weber. They combined to give up 16 hits, 1 K, 1 BB and 1 HBP. For the Whiz, Mangione was 3-3, Barry Friedman and Jeff Friedman were both 2-3, both had a triple and Jeff added a double. Mike Kane was 2-3 with a double.
