On Tuesday evening (6/16), the Arachnids and Americans met for the second time this season. The Americans handed the Arachnids their only loss in the first game of the season and were looking to make it 2 straight over the Spiders. Starting on the mound for the home team Arachnids was Darrell Duncan, and for the Americans, Don Ball.
The Americans leadoff hitter Greg Mangione got the action started right away with a single and swipe of second. Following a strike-out, Mangione stole third base. After a pop up out to the pitcher, cleanup hitter Jim Bradleys RBI singled plated Mangione for the games first run. Duncan retired the next hitter on a 6-4 fielders choice. In the bottom of the 1st the Arachnids tallied 2 runs on hits by TJ Scorsone, Rick Saidenberg (double) and Bob Bolt. Arachnids led 2-1.
Over the next two innings the Americans would add another run, on 3 hits and a walk, while the Arachnids added 3 runs on 4 hits, a walk and the assistance of and an error. After 3 innings, it was Arachnids 5, Americans 2.
Bob Bolt relieved Duncan for the 4th and 5th innings. The Americans added a run in each inning. The Arachnids matched the Americans, scoring 1 in the bottom half of each inning. After 5 innings, it was Arachnids 8, Americans 4.
Stefan Koutsakis relieved Bolt for the 6th and 7th innings. The Americans did not score in either inning, while the Arachnids added 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning on a combination of 3 hits, 3 walks and an error. Final Score Arachnids 13, Americans 4.

The Americans offense was led by Greg Mangione 3-4 (double) and Jim Keegan 2-4. For the Arachnids: Lee Madsen 2-4, TJ Scorsone 3-3, Rick Saidenberg 3-3 (2 double), Bob Bolt 2-3, Stefan Koutsakis 2-2.
