The Yankees, in a nutshell, played better baseball last night then their worthy the opponents, the Arachnids. Long story short Ron Massaroni was on the top of his game as he pitched all seven innings for the Yankees. The Arachnids managed just five singles while the Yankees produced eight hits. The spiders hurt their own cause by committing a couple of untimely errors and allowing several questionable walks. The Yankees also made a couple of errors but overall they did play a better game. Massaroni struck out five and walked none to pick up the victory. The Arachnids use three pitchers Wayne Nicholsen, Darrell Duncan, and Bob Bolt. Final score, Yankees win, 6-1. The race for the number one seed going into the playoffs just got significantly tighter and the Yankees will face the Reds, tomorrow evening, August 7 in what should be one heck of a game. Oh yes, I would be remiss if I didn't mention a highlight for the Yankees last night Joe CARECCIA stole home on us in the bottom of the second for the first Yankees run. That guy. A risk taker he is.
