Hello Gentlemen (I use that term wisely!), our Albany Mutts team went 2-2 in the round robin play. Each game was 7 innings and the top two teams played in the championship Monday AM: Middlesex 4-0 vs. Diamond Dogs 3-1. We opened up Saturday with a 5-3 win over the New Hampshire 38s and then dropped a heart-breaker to the Middlesex Thunder, 22-3. The game was much closer than what the final score was. On Sunday, we had a do-or-die matchup with Maine Diamond Dogs but wound up no match for them in a 5-0 loss. Maine pitcher Mark Powers was perfect through five innings. We ended the tourney with a convincing 6-1 win. I want to thank DD (Don Dunham) for letting me play with the Mutts once again. I had a super time, as did everyone else. Some guys took in a Portland SeaDogs game Saturday night, some had some delicious Maine Lobster, and others bounced around the Old Port from Bar to Bar. I met some really good people from Albany once again. (Mike LaCouture, Eddie C., Ed, Tommy, and it was nice to play ball again with TJ.) You Albany guys are my extended baseball family and a super bunch of guys to be around. I look forward to Labor Day (I just have to find a hotel this year that keeps their pool open after September 1). Once again, anyone who want to get some RG Johnson bats, just email me at foxnsox13@yahoo.com and when I come down this Labor Day I'll bring the sticks with me. Take care guys! -Lenny Fox
