Joe Guerrin spun a complete game three hitter as the Orioles won their ninth straight game last night at SUNY. Guerrin walked four and struck out four to improve to 2-0 on the year.
The Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a walk, a hit batter, a single by Mike Kane and a error. Johnson and Preller had the other two hits for the Bucs. The O's scored four in the bottom of the first against Pirates starter Todd Calhoun and never looked back.
John Pologa, Bob Bolt and Doug Reisinger each had three hits, Paul Scutieri and Dick Stark had a pair. Reisinger and Scutieri knocked in three each and Pologa and Stark drove home a pair apiece.
The Orioles improve to 9-1-1, the Pirates fall to 5-3-1.
