The Highlanders defeated the Bluejays 8 to 6 on Tuesday , August 1, at Bethlehem Field. Anyone who played tonight (or will play tomorrow) will be able to attest to the impact of the heat. Both teams played gamely and, perhaps, the most amazing aspect was that both pitchers (Mason for the Highlanders and Hughes for the Bluejays) showed their heart and pitched complete games. Kalinski led the hitting for the Highlanders and Schreiber, Hart, Hughes, Goettche, and Hansen had hits for the 'Jays.
