Welcome sports fans to CDSMBL Bulletin Board, this is BL 44 reporting again. What another great Sunday for baseball at the New Scotland Field. The stands were filled to capacity. Today the Blue Thunder took on the Dodgers for the final time this regular season and played them in a double header. Led in the first game by Rich Garbarino who pitched a 5 hitter complete game and Larry Pape who was 3 for 3, scored 2 runs and had 1 RBI, the Blue Thunder were victorious with a 6-2 win in the opening game. Mr. Conlin of the Dodgers pitched a heck of a game, he walked 3 and struck out 2. In the second game, the Dodgers, right off the bat (excuse the pun), struck first with a 1st inning towering 3 run homer by Mr. Kannellis WOW. I am still surprized at our young age we can still hit the ball that far. The Blue Thunder forged ahead with 5 runs of there own in the bottom of the same inning on the strength of Pete Geannelis who hit a three run double and Tim Brown who drove in another. Blue Thunder moved ahead 7-4 at the end of three. Dodgers came back with 3 and tied the game at 7 up. In the botton of the last inning, Blue Thunder was able to push across a run on the speedy legs of Bob Lounsbury (hey that's me). As always, hats off to those Dodgers a classy team who like all other teams, never give up. Next game up for the Blue Thunder is on 8/13 a double header versus the Whiz Kidz and for the Dodgers, 8/13 versus the Hornets. The Blue Thunder improve to 6-6 as the Dodgers fall to 3-11.
