A game that was closer than the score would indicate.
Huge thank you to Dana Hansen and the Blue Jays for getting a team together at a time when it seems everyones roster is running low. Would have been a shame not to have played on such a beautiful day.
Once again, Dennis "Manager of the Year" Maille is being modest. He did everything in his power to make sure the game was played. What a huge addition to the league he has been.
As to the game itself, the expansion Cubs clinched a berth in the upper-tier playoffs with their 11th win. Francisco Rosello had an inside-the-park homerun, and a triple to lead the offense, while Jonny Martin took care of the pitching.
I got a chance to play in that game for the Blue Jays and I appreciate the opportunity to have done so.
One thing I can say that I really enjoyed was the wood bat rule. I honestly believe that the 28+ league should look at making the switch to wood. The switch would open up many opportunities to use smaller fields in the area and bring baseball back to the way it SHOULD be played. You 38's have a great league. Don't ever make the switch to aluminum.
