Welcome sports fans to CDSMBL Bulletin Board, this is BL 44 reporting again. What another beautiful Sunday for baseball at the New Scotland Field. The stands were once again filled to capacity (we actually ran out of beer and peanuts this time). Today Blue Thunder took on the Whiz Kidz for the first time and final time this regular season in a double header. The Whiz Kidz were led in the first game by a terrific pitching performance by Darrell Duncan, he overcame a thundering (excuse the pun) home run by Pete LaFlamme of Blue Thunder in the top of the first. Add the timely hitting of the Kidz, put the two together, it equals a 6-2 victory for the Kidz in the opening game. In the second game, Blue Thunder came back from a 4-0 deficit with an 8 run fourth inning led by a two run double by Kevin McDonald. Blue Thunder forged ahead with another run in the fifth to walk away with a 9-4 win in the “night cap”. Dennis Pierce pitched a terrific game for the Kidz as did Mr. Mc Donald for Blue Thunder aided by a terrific relief job from Pete LaFlamme. As always, hats off to those Whiz Kidz another classy team who like all other teams, never give up. Next game up for the Blue Thunder is on 8/20 versus the Yankees and for the Whiz Kidz, 8/20 versus the Marlins. Blue Thunder stays at .500 at 7-7 as well as the Whiz Kids do at 7-7.
