finally, after weeks of phone calls & emails to school officials, cba's field was set for saturday's game. i'm told the field was well groomed. i'm pleased to hear that.
i'm not sure, however, what shape the field is in now, after the rain. i'll try to buzz by there on my way to work and give the orioles and giants, who play there tuesday, an update.
i called the school's director of maintenance today and left a message, telling him about the playoff game and asking if he can do whatever tweaking needs to be done.
but to protect yourselves, i would suggest that, if possible, members of the o's and giants go there early and, if it's necessary, pull out the hand pulled drag and rakes from the shed.
also please rememember to drag & broom the dugouts afterwards. the head of maintenance - marian mastukis (i think that's his last name) has complained that he's found messy dugouts and beer cans on the property. i've argued they're not ours.
